Markets seem to be stabilising after the decline in emerging assets during the summer. Only a handful of assets are reaching positive returns so far this year, and only the American stock market stands out above the rest. The United States continues to apply tariffs to Chinese products, already applying tariffs to more than 50% of Chinese imports. China has retaliated by applying more tariffs to American products. Trade tensions between these two countries have led the OECD to slightly revise global growth forecasts for 2018 and 2019 downwards, although confidence data continue to point towards a positive economic outlook. Gabriel Noguera, from the Customer Strategy Department, presents the investment outlooks for October in this video.
